Musical Director

Amy Hsu

Amy is a musical director, orchestrator and conductor. Her freelance journey started in New Zealand, where she worked as a musician on a variety of productions including the NZ tour of Jersey Boys (2021) and the Auckland Civic Theatre production of Mary Poppins (2020). Some of her music credits include the trans-Tasman symphonic electronic dance phenomena, Synthony. She was a two-time recipient of the Anna Nathan Prize in Early Keyboard Performance in 2016 and 2017, and was a concert soloist for the Auckland Symphony Orchestra in 2017. Amy also worked for 3 years on luxury cruise lines and performed with over 70 entertainment acts from across the globe.


Her musical direction journey brought her to London where she obtained her Masters in Musical Direction from the Royal Academy of Music. Amy was recently seen on stage at the RSC’s world premiere stage adaptation of My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican Centre.

Amy is passionate about empowering marginalized voices through her work, and hopes to continue to lend her craft and visibility to the British East and South East Asian community.
