Cheng Ong

Cheng is a Musical Director, audition pianist and repertoire coach from Singapore, currently
based in London and Glasgow.

Cheng holds a BMus (Hons) degree in Keyboard Performance as well as an MA in Musical
Theatre (Music Directing) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. As a freelancer, Cheng
is a part-time lecturer of the Musical Theatre and Transitions departments at the RCS, and
regularly accompanies classes and auditions for various theatre schools and colleges both in
Glasgow and London.
Recent credits include Cinderella, 9 to 5, Sweeney Todd, Little Women and a pantomime
production of Jack and the Beanstalk for Horsecross Arts at Perth Theatre.
Cheng is thrilled to be working with the talented and hardworking students at MPAA and is
honoured to help bring Sondheim’s masterpiece to life.
