Lawrence Michalowski is a highly accomplished Musical Director based in London. He graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance with a BA (Hons) in Composition & Conducting. Lawrence has a wealth of experience in the industry, having performed in many notable productions. He played the roles of Toby in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium, Gavroche in Les Misérables at the Queens Theatre and Sondheim Theatre, and Michael Banks in Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre.
Since graduating, Lawrence has worked extensively as a Musical Director, with credits including Bad Girls (UK tour), Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Cinderella Pantomime at the Gordon Craig Theatre. He has also worked as an Associate Musical Director on productions such as The Best of Frankie Vallie and The Barricade Boys. Lawrence has been involved in setting up onboard entertainment for Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines. Currently, he is working as a rehearsal pianist for The Lion King.
In addition to his work as a Musical Director, Lawrence has lent his talents as a pianist and vocalist to various productions. He played the role of Benny Andersson in “Mania – a Tribute To ABBA” on UK and international tours. Lawrence has also worked as an orchestrator and arranger on various productions featuring his music at prestigious venues such as Upstairs At The Gatehouse, Sadler’s Wells, and The Royal Albert Hall. He has composed the music for the production of Music for Henry, a “Killer New Musical” performed at The Albany, Deptford.
