Stephen Hill

Stephen hails from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, studied at the Royal College of Music and enjoys a busy career as a singer, choral director and vocal coach.

He formed his own professional choir who worked consistently in Radio, TV, Film Soundtracks and recordings and was Choral Director for BBC Radio 2’s series of complete musicals, several Royal Variety Performances and for HMQ 90th Birthday Gala at Windsor Palace.

His West End credits includes the original London cast of Sweened Todd at Drury Lane, Jeeves Takes Charge and CATS at the New London Theatre, where he was Production Vocal Director for 12 years. He was Choral Director for Elton John’s Concert at the Royal Opera House in 2000, and subsequent UK Tours and performances.

He performed the Role of Roscoe in a special recording of Follies at Drury Lane and was credited by Stephen Sondheim as the ‘definitive Roscoe’. He has also worked with composer Alan Menken both on his TV series Galavant and as Choral Director for the recent film version of Aladdin.

Stephen was Repertoire Coach and Vocal Director at the Royal Academy of Music for 18 years and is very proud to be part of the MPAA Faculty.
